my fanfic recommendations

cleo and joe in a time loop what will they do. contains a bunch of excellent character interactions and antics. one of my favorite fics of all time

ridiculous zed-centric chatfic. absurd comedy that suits zed perfectly

i feel like this is on every rec list but that's probably a good thing. this trilogy follows the helsmits of team ZIT and has excellent character writing that compliments the conflict nicely. my favorite is Nothing of Note

this was written by my friend nico. it follows the heart foundation members. it's a unique look at the mechanisms behind the life games, secret life especially, and is absolutely fantastic at creating tension. almost 7500 words but i didn't realize that until looking at the word count because it passed so quickly. can't recommend enough

an au where scar and mumbo are escaping from superheroes and kidnap grian. absolutely adore this one.

i had a need for post-game triple threat interactions and boy did these two deliver. first is just fluff second is fluff and angst.

this is also post-game triple threat interactions but i found it more recently and its styled differently and its great. felt just like i was playing an official henry stickmin game about henry dating charles and ellie.

animator vs animation:

this one's old unfinished and short but i'm almost certain it's what made me start loving darkpurple four years ago

the dark lord breaks into purples house. literally found this fic as i was writing this list. i love it. this is everything i've been thinking about for 4 years about purpledark. i love it. they are friends purple has issues dark has issues. i love it. im so dead serious this is everything i've ever wanted. gonna stop reading fics now because nothing will ever be this. holy shit. if you like either of these characters this fic is a must read. this is my new favorite fic

milo murphy's law:

one of my favorite fics of all time, CRIMINALLY underrated. milo and dakota centric. most angsty thing on this list tbh. its just below 3500 words, so give it a shot!

an awesome story that has plenty of action. every character is given enough time in the spotlight. the plot is super compelling and wraps everything together amazingly, which is something hard to come by in fic! strongly recommend for mml fans.

this is one of the most popular fics in the tag, and with good reason! it sits at a whopping 157000 word count for fans of long fics. if you like short fics better, each chapter can be read as standalone, so just read whatever you like and pretend to be a time traveller. primarily dakavendish centered, but others do show up occasionally.
